Tournaments and Events
I am the co-operator of the utah dodgeball league, I am also team captain of the "Donkey Punchers" & very excited to be a part of this "the most awesome of all team sports". I've always participated in team and individual sports & dogeball seems to be the best of both. Our league had 4 teams when I joined 5 months and now we're up to about 8-10 that show up one of the 2 nights a week that we play. We had our first tournament in late Feb.& it brought 20 teams teams down from Idaho & Wyoming as well as a couple near by county's. The whole building was full of electricity with some very serious compition. Our team having practiced with the other top teams in our league felt very confident of taking at least second place were shocked to get knocked out of the tourny at 6th. The event was held at the Franklin Covey building (were they make the day planners & former practice stadium of the Utah Jazz) which has a very nice facility with a good size set of bleachers large enough accomadate @ least 200 people and 3 games at one time. It was such a success that the stadium manager said that it was the largest drawing event they had ever had there and invited, no begged us to do it again which we did in April and it was also a very succesful event with fewer teams (due to the season) but still very stiff competition (we managed to rank 3rd but expected 1rst). At least Kyle "the target" Curtis on our team got the face shot of the day when he pelted and welted the face of "The West Valley Police" team captain "The slap heard around the World" they now call it. We are growing and always looking for more teams for our tourny's. we just signed w/ the Utah coorperate games and our next tournament should be a huge 4 state event (you could change that and make it more), I will keep you all posted. let me know if your group our league is interested in participating and I'll get you all the info you'll need as far as rules, times, directions, lodging, ect. Peace out- Wattermelon from UTAHDODGEBALL.COM
