What and Why

Well, the site is finally up. They say if you build it, they will come. We'll just see about that...
The motivation behind this site is sort of complex. Actually, it's not that complex at all. Dodgeball is a nascent sport. It's not fully developed. There are no real governing organizations that actually have solid financial backing, a strategic vision for professional (or even semi-pro) play, and good management. This last assertion in and of itself causes a ton of problems (but hopefully this will change soon). Everybody who wants to play, wants to find out about the sport, or wants to contribute to the development and maturation of the sport is out of luck. True, there are a few companies and organizations offering a small slice of the dodgeball pie, but nobody sees the big picture yet. Aspiring dodgeballers and veterans alike need a place to share information and ideas. That's the motivation.
Like myself, I bet you have questions: Does dodgeball have mainstream (read: ESPN2) potential? How can I start a team? Are there leagues in my area? When is Reebok coming out with dodgeball kicks? Why do the NADA rules seem so... fourth grade? (like, no headshots? c'mon - that's what fans would want to see!) Is there money to be made? If it's going to be an organized sport, who's doing the organizing? What's the best ball to buy? Am I ever going to see pro dodgeball scouts sitting in the bleachers at gym class?
Well this is where people will come to get those questions answered, provide insights and opinions, and advance the sport.
