Vegas Tournament !

The Rules of Dodgeball
Im submiting this to not only congratulate our utah players that won the tournament but also as a testament as to how we play the game here. I started the league a year ago and have implimented a number of certain rules of play that I believe has helped the game as seen and experienced by utahs opponents in vegas. With practice and teamwork it almost makes you unbeatable at that! I invite you to check out our website at www.utahdodgeball.com , contact myself Paul, for any further info. If a standard rule of play, 8 1/2 inch red playground balls, court size and team size where implimented nationwide this would be a far more competitive sport. Playing as we did in Vegas was much like shooting fish in a barrel. No offense intended, but this was really a far cry from how we play it here. We've had a single game go 38 minutes as a result of how competitive it is here. Experience our style of play and rules and youll find it a much greater sport. Paul

Vegas Baby Vegas! You're So Money

Hey, this is Craig from Anchorage, Alaska. Just wanted to drop a new blog and say what a great time we had down in Vegas at the National Dodgeball League World Championship and Convention. On behalf of my team, would like to extend a big thank you to the NDL staff for putting on a great tourney and can't wait for the next ones...they're only gonna get bigger and better. Would also like to extend a big thanks to all the other teams that showed up and played all out out there. The level of play was simply awesome and everyone left everything they had on the court. Thanks for rooting us on. We forged some new friendships and are looking forward to seeing you all down the road at future tournaments around the country.

Don't forget...we tentatively are planning a tourney next summer in Anchorage, Alaska. We'd host it in the winter but we'd probably get too big a turn out, bigger than we could handle with all the darkness and sub zero temperatures and all.

Anchorage is a great place to be in the summer time. If you fish, mountainbike, hike, raft, fly this place is paradise. And Anchorage isn't short on things to do at night (check out koots.com or humpys.com). We have a full compliment of bars, pubs, and clubs to boot to go to.

We have a website in progress, akdodgeball.com. Put it on your favorites and check it out from time to time for updates on our league and other events. If anyone has any questions, you can get a hold of me at craig_cornichuck@ml.com.

Thanks again.

Congratulations to Alaska team

As everyone there saw it, that team from Alaska played a hell of lot more games than you guys. I would like to see them play you with all things being equal. They had one guy out with a broken hand and another guy that broke his finger on Friday playing with his wife or girlfriend in the co-ed pool. Those Guys played well but looked tired and it showed. We played both your team and the Alaska team and those guys were the hardest throwing team in the tournament. The area they killed themselves in was that they tried to throw the big ball when they were tired. All in all it was a great tournament that could have been run better. Here is hoping Paul takes a facial money shot next year for all to see!

Utah........

First of all, Congratulations. Secondly, I would like to thank whomever posted the Congratulations to Alaska team, we appreciate the acknowledgement on the fact that we played in both tournaments which probably diminished our chances of winning either one. I do have to say that Utah was a very very good team and who knows if we could beat them without playing the coed tourney as well. We were extremely tired from all the games but I honestly think that they, us, or a few other teams could have beaten each other on any given day. All played at a very high level. I believe that the Regulators I think they were called, they had the grey shirts, were the best all around team there. Hell they had 6 guys make the cut for the pro tryouts. Fortunately when we played them in the 2nd round we came out on top. They were excellent sports about it as were most everyone in the tournament once off the court of course. They even had a guy on there team who shagged balls for us the rest of the tournament. I personally thought it was a great experience, it was great meeting all the guys from all over the country and yeah on the court things were competitive but teams were congratulating each other and shaking hands after every match. As for the honesty system, I think everyone there knows that not everyone would call themselves out on some of the little grazes or nicks but I personally wouldnt expect someone too. Do baseball players call themselves out when the ump makes a bad call in their favor? Do receivers admit their 2nd foot was out of bounds on a called catch?! Why would it be any different? Now, there were a few taking this to the extreme cases of bad sportsmanships, where they were hit in the chest, hard off the legs or arms and just kind of standing around to see if anyone saw it. There were some excellent athletes and teams there and I enjoyed being able to compete against all of you and hope to do so again in the future. We would love to hear from any of you who might be interested in coming up here to Anchorage to play in a tournament with us. Eddie, Nikki and everyone else who helped put this thing together, thank you very much. Cant wait until next year. Was it just me or was Nikki like unbelievably gorgeous?! Utah, rematch? well, need another week for my arm to recuperate but what do you say? Bob(screw this anonymous shit)

Wow, you're great

Paul,

No offense intended - but you sound like an arrogant jackass.
