Outdoor Dodgeball Net \ Wall

I hope this is the right place to post. I'm organizing a company dodgeball tourney which will be played outdoors. I haven't really played before so sorry for the ignorant question. Is there a need for a temporary fence or wall or net of some kind so the balls aren't thrown too far and if so what is commonly used?

What size and type of ball material generate the best flight and velocity? I noticed on certain websites that a company, Dodge-It, makes dodgeball courts. Does anyone know what specifications are used in creating such a court? Such specifications would include: court size, padded or unpadded walls, ceiling height, boundaries, etc. Information would be much appreciated.
